Facilities

The facilities in each scheme exceed what you might expect from Independent Living accommodation.     There are many opportunities, outings and social events when residents can meet with each other, sharing experiences and making friends.   

Our on site facilities include:

Residential Scheme Managers – Our Scheme Managers are on hand to keep an eye on the well-being of residents and the premises during working hours. Out of hours the Central Control call system in each flat ensures a prompt response to emergencies.

Community Lounges – The lounges are elegantly furnished and are great places for residents to socialise away from their individual flats. Each Almshouse has its own social committee which arranges occasions such as coffee mornings, games nights and outings.   IT classes and other regular interest events are organised by the staff.

Picturesque and well maintained gardens – The gardens are a great place for residents to walk around or sit and enjoy on a warm summer’s day.      There are a limited number of plots available for residents to grow their own flowers and plants.

Conservatory – Bond’s Hospital has a light and airy conservatory for residents to sit, relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Hairdressing Service – A professional hairdresser visits the salon weekly at Bond’s Court for the ladies and a barber calls fortnightly for the men.

Laundry – A fully equipped laundry is available at each site for residents. There is easy access to all equipment.     The laundry is another meeting place for residents to meet and chat.

IT lounge – We run occasional computer classes for those who wish to keep abreast of modern technologies.    Here is a real opportunity to learn how to use e-mail and the internet. Residents regularly e-mail family and friends, some on the other side of the world, to let them know they are safe and well. The computers are often used to research the many outings organised by the social committees.

Guest suites – Many flats do not have the facilities for entertaining visitors.     Our guest suites are for residents’ family and friends to enjoy when visiting. For a very modest charge guests can enjoy a bedroom with ensuite bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities.  

City Centre location – Being in the city centre many shops, the Post Office, the Belgrade Theatre, the Library, several restaurants and other amenities are just a stone’s throw away.
